John R. Drolette was born in March 1967 in Malden.
He is the son of the late Irene B. (Stanton) & Joseph “Les” L. Drolette, Sr., formerly of Bourne and Belmont.
John grew up in Monument Beach and attended Bourne Public Schools, graduating from Bourne High School, the Class of 1985.
He attended New England Institute of Applied Arts & Sciences in Kenmore Square, Boston and graduated cum laude with an Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Sciences, the Class of 1987.
John began working as a funeral apprentice for Jethro O. Ashley, Jr. in Middleborough, in July 1987.
In 1991, John married Evelyn in Marshfield.
The couple have lived in Marshfield and Brockton; they currently reside in Halifax. They have two children, Craig and Erica.
John has worked in the funeral industry for over 39 years, serving many families in the Boston, Brookline, and the South Shore communities.
In December 2018, John, his wife Evelyn, and his cousin Eileen Gautreau, purchased the Ashley Funeral Home in Middleborough.
Craig has chosen to join his father in this industry; as he started working in the funeral business at a young age.


Craig P. Drolette was born November 24, 1998 in Weymouth.
He is the son of Evelyn & John.
Craig grew up in Halifax and attended the schools in the Silver Lake Regional School District, graduating from Silver Lake Regional High School, the class of 2016.
He attended FINE Mortuary College, in Norwood and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Sciences, the Class of 2020.
Craig began working as a funeral apprentice at the family funeral home in December 2018.
In December 2022, Craig became the Vice-President of Operations as well as an Owner of the Ashley Funeral Home.
Craig married Rachel in West Bridgewater in May 2024.
The couple currently resides in Lakeville. They have two children, twin boys, Collin and Christian.


Jethro O. Ashley, Jr. was born in June 1928 in Acushnet.
He is the son of the late Jennie (Bennett) & Jethro O. Ashley, Sr.
Jethro grew up and lived in Acushnet; attended Acushnet schools and graduated from New Bedford High School, the Class of 1947.
He attended Boston University, in Boston, majoring in Business Administration.
Jethro went on and attended New England Institute of Mortuary School in Boston and graduated the Class of 1952.
After college, he joined the U.S. Army Medical Core for two years.
In 1959, Jethro married Ann (Bradford) and shared 52 years of marriage.
Jethro founded the Ashley Funeral Home in February 1970, serving the families of Middleborough, for almost 50 years.
In 2018, he decided to enjoy retirement.
Jethro resides in Middleborough.
