William Michael Obituary

OBITUARY: (MIDDLEBORO) William D. Michael, aged 93 years, of Middleboro, died on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at the Golden Living Center Oak Hill, Middleboro. He was the husband of the late Mary (Teceno) Michael, who predeceased him on July 7, 2007. He was born in Provincetown, son of the late Manuel and Elizabeth (McMahon) Michael. He was a graduate of Middleboro High School, and had served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He worked as a shoe cutter at the former Plymouth Shoe Company, and then retired as an electrician from Bridgewater State College. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Middleboro. William was a member of the Middleboro Lodge of Elks, and the Mitchell Memorial Club. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed all sports. Survivors include two sons, William D. and his wife Roxanne Michael of West Barnstable, and Peter B. and his wife Jean Michael of Lakeville, a daughter, Margaret A. Eddy and her companion Joseph Stephen of Middleboro, two brothers, George Michael and Walter Michael, both of Middleboro, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St Middleboro, on Wednesday, January 9th from 10-11 am, followed by a prayer service at 11:30 am in the funeral home. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Middleboro.
