William D. Hedlund, Jr.

William "Bill" D. Hedlund, Jr., age 50, of Rochester, died on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at the Care One Healthcare in New Bedford.

Bill was born in Weymouth, grew up in Taunton and was a graduate of Taunton High School, Class of 1988.  He worked in finances all of his life, most recently as a Mortgage Loan Officer at Embrace Home Loans located in Newport, Rhode Island.  Bill loved the Boston sports; the Bruins, the Celtics and the Red Sox.  He was very passionate about being involved with his two sons sporting events; he helped coach their teams with baseball, soccer and basketball.  In his "free" time, Bill enjoyed playing golf and working in his yard.  He cherished any and all time he spent with his family.  Bill was a simple man, was loved and will be missed.

For 25 years, Bill was the beloved husband to Rachel (Bernier) Hedlund; loving father of Nicholas Hedlund and Christopher Hedlund both of Rochester; dear brother of Sherri Nielson of New Hampshire, Ben Hedlund of Arizona, Michael Hedlund-Groden of Massachusetts and Kate Hedlund-Groden of Maine; loving son of the late Nancy (Better) Larivee & her late husband Donald.  He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Margaret Eddy & her companion Joseph Stephens of Middleborough; his father-in-law, Richard Bernier & his wife Beverly of Rochester; and his father, William D. Hedlund, Sr. of Braintree.

There will be NO visiting hours.

Funeral and Interment services will be private.
