Weston Sanford Obituary

OBITUARY: (MIDDLEBORO) Weston Page Sanford, aged 89, lifelong resident of Middleboro, died on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Morton Hospital, Taunton. He was the husband of the late Jean E. (Maddigan) Sanford, who predeceased him on July 11, 2014. He was born in Middleboro, son of the late Abram L. and A. Vivian (Boehme) Sanford. He was a 1945 graduate of Middleboro Memorial High School, and a 1951 graduate of Boston College. He received his Master's Degree in Chemistry from the University of New Hampshire in 1953. He served as Sergeant in the United States Army, during WWII. He retired in 2001 from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy as a Chemistry Professor. He was a communicant of St. John Neumann Church, East Freetown. Survivors include a daughter, Mary J. Morgan and her husband Larry St. Germain, of Onset; three sons, Paul W. Sanford, David L. and his wife Susan (Comstock) Sanford, all of Middleboro, Jonathan R. and his wife Margaret (Murphy) Sanford, of Duxbury; 7 grandchildren, Dale Morgan, Molly Morgan, Harrison Sanford, Ronan Sanford, Sarah Sanford, Benjamin Sanford and Samuel Sanford, several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 9th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Rd. East Freetown, on Tuesday, May 10th at 9 am. Burial will take place in Nemasket Hill Cemetery, Middleboro.
