OBITUARY: (MIDDLEBORO) Wayne Edson Dimond, aged 71, of Middleboro, died on Friday, February 27, 2015, at Tobey Hospital, Wareham. He was the former husband of Cindy (Holmes) Cobb. He was born in Middleboro, son of the late Charles E. and Mildred (Benton) Dimond. Wayne served in the United States Army, during Vietnam. He had worked for the city of Taunton at the D.P.W. and also did landscaping. Wayne was a member of the Mitchell Memorial Club and the Middleboro Lodge of Elks. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, quahogging, sports, and especially enjoyed Bingo. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Wayne E. and his wife Dena Dimond of Weare, NH, and Michael J. and his wife Lesley Dimond of Middleboro; two daughters, Wanda Dimond of Santee, CA, Nadine L. Dimond of Middleboro; a brother, Brian Dimond of Middleboro; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, his favorite nephew, Brian A. Dimond of Taunton. He was brother of the late Charles E. Dimond, and companion of the late Patricia Stoddard, of 20 years. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 2nd from 5-8 pm in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd at 11 am. Burial will take place at a later date in Nemasket Hill Cemetery, Middleboro.
