Warren Whipple Obituary

OBITUARY: (MIDDLEBORO) Warren Barnes Whipple, aged 91 years, of Middleboro, died on Monday, January 14, 2013, at the Golden Living Center Oak Hill, Middleboro. He was the husband of the late Marion (Thomas) Whipple, who predeceased him on November 21, 2002. He was the son of the late Henry E. and Alice (Barnes) Whipple. He was a graduate of Bridgewater High School, and had served in the United States Navy, during WWII, in the Pacific Theater. He worked in the photo lab at the Winthrop-Atkins Company, as a photographer, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Lakeville. Warren was a member of the Middleboro Historical Association, the Bridgewater Historical Association, and the Old Colony Historical Association. He was also a member of the Middleboro Lions Club. He and his wife were co-writers of two published books on local history. Survivors include three nieces, Marcia Holmgren, Alison Howes, and Nancy Bradford, all of Middleboro, a nephew, David Howes of Pittsburg, PA, several great-nieces and great-nephews. Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be held in the Egger Funeral Home, 61 Pearl St Middleboro, on Thursday, January 17th from 3-6 pm. A private graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, East Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to: The Marion B. and Warren B.
