Walter "Walt" A. Dudley, age 77, of Taunton, formerly of Middleborough, died peacefully at his home, on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
Born and raised in Middleborough, he was the son of the late Robert & Beatrice (Hebert) Dudley. Walt attended public schools, enlisted in the US Army in 1965, served three years and was honorably discharged in 1968. Soon after being discharged from the US Army, he worked at his father's automotive shop, Bob's Repair in Middleborough, as a mechanic. Walt decided a change was needed with his occupation, so he secured a position with the Middleborough School System as a custodian, and retired after 25 years. He was "easy-going", enjoyed puttering around his yard and loved anything involving wolves, as he found wolves to be very interesting animals. Walt loved to travel; taking a cruise to Alaska and vacationing to Ireland. He cherished time spent with his family; he loved his family and his family loved him. He was a simple man and enjoyed a simple life.
Walt was the beloved husband for 54 years to Virginia (O'Connell) Dudley; loving father of Sean Dudley of Fall River, Jennifer Wilson & her husband Brett of Stafford Springs, Connecticut and K.Tiffany Dudley of Taunton; cherished grandfather of Ashley Baker & her husband Zack and Ryan Wilson & his wife Abbey; dear brother of the late Robert Dudley; and loving son-in-law of Virginia O'Connell of Taunton.
