Thomas "LARRY" Tate, age 83, of Middleborough, formerly of Assonet, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 27, 2026, in Fall River.
Born in Middleborough, he was the son of the late Thomas & Elizabeth (Drew) Tate. Larry grew up and attended public schools in Middleborough. He enjoyed a career spanning over 40 years as a boilermaker in all the power plants across the five New England states, working 10-12 hours per day. Larry was a seasoned, dedicated employee and a very knowledgeable individual. He also worked at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Plymouth. When issues occurred with the "stack" at the Power Station, Larry was instrumental in fixing and resolving the matter. Larry loved sports cars and proudly drove a Corvette. He was kind, had a "good heart" and enjoyed the company of ladies.
Larry was the father of Carol Ann Tate of Florida, Carl Tate of New Bedford and Brian Tate of Fall River; grandfather of one; dear brother of Barbara Nichols of Plymouth and Robert Tate of Middleborough; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Funeral and Interment Services, entrusted to the care of the Ashley~Drolette Funeral Home, Middleborough, are private.
