Thomas G. Bolia, age 72, of Middleborough, died on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.
Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late William & Mary (Mosley) Bolia. Tom grew up in Middleborough and graduated from Middleborough High School. He entered the Naval Submarine Base in Groton, Connecticut and graduated #1 in his class, with high honors, being very intelligent. Tom served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and was stationed on the USS George Washington Carver Submarine. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and proudly served as an honorary guard at local funeral services. Religion was also important to Tom, he was Catholic and served his parish as a Eucharistic Minister when needed. A kind and giving man, he will be missed.
Tom was the loving brother of Mary R. (Bolia) Buote of Tampa, Florida, James M. Bolia of North Dartmouth and the late William J. Bolia, Patrick A. Bolia and Leonard J. Bolia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Sunday, April 10, 2022, from 3:00-7:00 PM.
All are invited to gather at the Ashley Funeral Home, Middleborough, on Monday, April 11, 2022, starting at 10:45 AM, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Isidore Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre Street, Middleborough at 11:30 AM.
Interment with military honors will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, 1 Connery Avenue, Bourne, at 1:30 PM.
