Ronald "RON" E. Santagati, Sr.

Ronald "Ron" E. Santagati, Sr., age 72, of Middleborough, died on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at his home.

Ron was born in Boston, the son of the late John & Margaret (Walker) Santagati.  He grew up in Hyde Park, attended schools in Brighton and graduated from Brighton High School, Class of 1968.  Ron enlisted in the U.S. Navy, during the Vietnam War, served three years and was honorably discharged in 1973.  He started working at the Bell & Howell Company which was later bought out by Kodak; he was a field engineer and worked on scanning equipment, retiring in 2015.  Ron was an avid gun collector; loved music, playing the guitar and dining out.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing miniature golf and in his younger days, riding his motorcycle.

Ron was the beloved husband of the late Joyce (Beshansky) Santagati; loving father of Roberta Fernau & her husband Christopher of Lakeville and the late Ronald E. Santagati, Jr.; loving grandfather of Victor Santagati and Jonathan Fernau; and dear brother of the late Regina Hanlon.

Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 4:00-8:00 PM.

Funeral and interment services will be private.
