OBITUARY: (BROCKTON) Robert Wallace Washburn, aged 84, of Plymouth, died on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at St. Joseph's Manor, Brockton. He was the husband of Susan R. (Curtiss) Washburn. He was born in Avon, son of the late Roger H. and Phyllis (Beals) Washburn. He served in the United States Air Force, during the Korean conflict. Robert was a retired social worked at the Brockton Veteran's Administration. He was a longtime resident of Middleboro. He was a master cribbage player, enjoyed watching all the New England sports teams, and woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Susan; 6 daughters, Patricia Washburn, Deborah Washburn, Karen Davidson, Kathleen and her husband Thomas Grimmer, Lynn Washburn, Karen and her husband Francis Gallagher; a son, Daniel and his wife Hilary Curtiss; a brother, Richard and his wife Eileen Washburn; 7 grandchildren, a nephew. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 30th from 4-7 pm in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro. Burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at 9:45 am on Thursday, August 31st.
