Robert Poskus

OBITUARY: (ARIZONA) Robert Alan Poskus, 67, of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Middleboro, MA, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 19, 2015. He was the husband of Anita Ellen (Smalley) Poskus; they had been married for 44 years. He was born in Brockton, son of the late Charles and Mura (Ward) Poskus. He was a graduate of Brockton High School, and had served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He was a retired police officer with the city of Brockton, retiring in 2000. He was a guitar enthusiast, and enjoyed his motorcycle, fishing, and all sports. He was a former member of the Middleboro Lodge of Elks, Middleboro. Survivors include his wife, four sons, Robert Alan Poskus Jr. of Middleboro, Marc Andrew Poskus of Colonie, NY, John Joseph Poskus of Norfolk, and Joseph Michael Poskus of Middleboro; a daughter, Katie Lynn Poskus of Middleboro; a sister, Sandra Groves of Raynham, 5 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Richard Poskus and David Poskus. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 30th from 4-8 pm in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro, with a prayer service to be held at 8 pm. Burial will take place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Monday, February 2nd at 11 am.
