OBITUARY: (MIDDLEBORO) Robert Charles Morse, 66, of Middleboro, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2018, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, after a sudden decline in his health. Born October 16, 1951, Bobby spent the majority of his life in his hometown of Middleboro, spending the last couple years living in New Bedford. He was a graduate of Middleboro High School, class of 1971. Bobby went on to serve in the United States Marines where he fought for freedom in Vietnam. Bobby was very proud of his service both there and later in the National Guard, where he earned the nickname "Sarge." He was rarely seen out not wearing his bright red Marine jacket and a cap commemorating his service. After his service, Bobby worked for the state for many years before retiring as well as bartending for many years at the Elks Club of which he was also a member for 45 years. He was a longtime member of the Mitchell Memorial Club. Bobby was predeceased by his parents, Ralph & Eileen Morse, of Middleboro. He leaves behind two sisters, Susan Sullivan and her husband Mark of Middleboro, and Kathy Amaral and her husband Mike of New Bedford; three nieces, Kendra Kouloheras, Erin Sullivan, and Jennifer Graham, all of which have fond memories of their uncle, including how he'd let them sit on his lap as kids, steering his Bronco down Route 44. He also leaves behind numerous, cousins, and extended family. Visiting hours will be held at Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro, Monday, February 12th from 4-7 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, February 13th at 10 am. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Middleboro.
