OBITUARY: (MIDDLEBORO) Robert William Logan, 76, of Middleboro, died peacefully in his home on Friday June 21, 2013, after a lengthy illness. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late William F. and Elizabeth (Bany) Logan. He was also the husband of the late Marilyn E. (Willett) Logan, who predeceased him on September 28, 2003. He is survived by his 7 children; a son, William and his wife Laurie (Paquin) Logan of Middleboro, MA and six daughter; Susan Logan of Berkley, MA, Anne, Denise, Cynthia, Erin and Kerri-Anne Logan all of Middleboro, MA. In addition to his children Robert is survived by his 3 siblings; Lorraine (Logan) Barrett of Dorchester, MA, Gerard Logan and his wife Carol of Mashpee, MA, Pamela Logan of South Boston, MA, 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Maureen P. Logan. Robert grew up in South Boston where he graduated from South Boston High School in 1955. He also attended Fisher Junior College earning an Associate's degree in Accounting. He was enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1959-1965, serving as part of a peacekeeping mission in Korea. He was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 36 years, working for the Metropolitan District Commission, Charles River Locks and Bridge Division as a machinist and maintenance supervisor until his retirement in 1999. Robert was also a member of the Middleboro Lodge of Elks. Robert enjoyed music, drawing, woodworking, playing cards, horseshoes and spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and always had a joke to tell. Most of all he loved playing Santa Claus for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren every Christmas. Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St Middleboro, on Tuesday, June 25th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 26th at 10 am in Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre St Middleboro. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Middleboro. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's name can be made to: Beacon Hospice, 32 Resnick Rd. Plymouth, MA 02360. Their wonderful staff was such a great help to our family in the last few months of our father's life.
