Richard Rebell Obituary

OBITUARY: (LAKEVILLE) Richard Baxter Rebell, aged 86 years, of Middleboro, died on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Island Terrace Nursing Home, Lakeville, after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Lillian R. (Belmont) Rebell; they had been married for 64 years. Born in Middleboro, he was the son of the late John and Ruth (Baxter) Rebell. Richard was retired from the Bridgewater Correctional Institute, where he was a phlebotomist. He was also a carpenter for the Rebell Brothers. After retirement, he worked for the Bay Colony Railroad. Richard served in WWII, in the United States Coast Guard. He was an avid railroad and train enthusiast, and also loved animals, ducks, music and his favorite, chocolate cake. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Middleboro. Survivors include his wife, Lillian; two sons, Richard Jr. and his wife Nancy Rebell, Peter B. and his wife Karen Rebell, all of Middleboro; sister-in-law, Dorothy Lacerda of Middleboro; three grandchildren, Catherine, Matthew, and Brandon; a great-grandson, Nicholas, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and relatives will be received on Monday, November 4th from 9-10 am, in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St Middleboro, followed by a prayer service at 10 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Middleboro.
