Peter J. Geden

Peter J. Geden, age 68, of Lakeville, formerly of Middleborough and Stoughton, died suddenly on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at his home.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Joseph & Dorothy (McLaughlin) Geden.  Peter grew up in Newton and his family moved to Stoughton.  He was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1972.  Peter resided in Stoughton for years until 1986.  He started his working career as a technician and became lineman with Verizon Telecommunications; he worked for 35 years, retiring in 2013.  For years, Peter was a proud Boy Scout Leader, earning the Wood Badge, which is the Premier Training Program for adult leaders.  He was also a member of the Lions Club.  In his free time, Peter was a "collector of many things".

Peter was the loving father of Earl Geden of Middleborough and Kenneth Geden of Carver; devoted brother of Carl Geden of North Attleboro, Greg Geden of New Hampshire and the late Paul Geden.  He is also survived by his former wife, Marcia Geden of Middleborough as well as many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

All are invited to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Friday, July 2, 2021, from 4:00-8:00 PM.

Family and friends are welcome to the funeral service at the Ashley Funeral Home, Middleborough, on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at 9:45 AM, followed by his funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Apostles Parish, Our Lady of the Lake Church, 575 Monponsett Street, Route 58, Halifax, at 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery, 1100 Washington Street, Stoughton.
