OBITUARY: (MIDDELBORO) Melvin Brent Johnson, 78, of Middleboro, died on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at the Golden Living Center Oak Hill, Middleboro. He was the husband of the late Mary Lou (Robbins) Johnson, who predeceased him on August 10, 2010. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late William B. and Anna (Shirley) Johnson. He was a graduate of Middleboro High School, class of 1956, and served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Barie. He retired from Bridgewater State Hospital. He was a member of the Mitchell Memorial Club, the Middleboro Lodge of Elks, and the Moose Club in Florida. After retirement, he lived in Bonita Springs, FL, for 15 years. He enjoyed camping, riding his bicycle, and spending time with friends and family. Survivors include three sons, Mark B. and his wife Misty Johnson, Scott B. Johnson and his companion Barbara Nichols, all of Middleboro, and Robert Johnson of Plymouth; a daughter, Debra and her husband Thomas Wilson, of Methuen; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 5th from 5-7 pm in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro. Burial will take place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations to: The Alzheimer's Association, (www.alz.org) .
