Marie Theresa (Collins) Ferrara

Marie Theresa (Collins) Ferrara, age 74, of Middleborough, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at her home.

Born in Boston, she grew up in Jamaica Plain, attended the Blessed Sacrament School also in Jamaica Plain and graduated from Middleborough High School in 1977.  Marie began her working career at Fernandes Market as a cashier and later worked at Oakhill Healthcare Nursing Home as a certified nursing assistant for many years, retiring in 2003.  In retirement, she enjoyed her vacations which included cruises and trips to Foxwoods.  Marie loved playing cards with her family, was very good at poker, and had lots of fun playing bingo too.  She loved and cherished her time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.  Marie was loved and will be missed.

Marie was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy (Long) Collins.

For 50 years, Marie was the beloved wife of William "Bill" Ferrara; loving mother of Michael Ferrara & his husband Hakan Ustebay of Belgium and Ellenmarie Nardullo & her husband John of Middleborough; loving and devoted grandmother of Ava and Sophia; sister of Betty, Shirley, Tom, Bob and Walter.

Funeral and interment services will be private.

A Celebration of Marie's life will be held at a later date.
