Born in Swansea, MA, she was the daughter of the late William & Edith Peters.  She was a graduate of Case High School class of 1942 and moved to Middleborough in 1948.  She worked for Lucy Shoe of Bridgewater and was an assistant cook at the Middleborough High School for 23 years.  She was past president of the Middleboro Mothers Club and the North Middleborough Congregational Church Ladies Guild.  She attended the North Middleborough Congregational Church and enjoyed working on their many roast beef suppers and church fairs.  She was a Den Mother and a Girl Scout Leader as well as a Sunday School Teacher.  She loved to cook and was famous for her cookies and breads.  She also enjoyed gardening and supplied many of her neighbors with vegetables and homemade jams and relishes.  An avid reader, she loved biographies and spiritual journals.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren cooking with them and watching them play sports.  She was very proud to be a Meme to her three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son David Wylie & his wife Ellen, her daughter Kathryn Schofield & her husband Steven, her grandchildren Rachael Fernandes & her husband Rich, Jonathan Wylie & his fiancee Jillian Perry, Matthew Schofield & his wife Chelsea, and Tyler Schofield & his wife Alyssa.  She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Norah Eve and Rowan James Schofield, and Brooke Madelyn Fernandes.  She also leaves a sister Clara Misiorski of Simsbury, Connecticut and 54 nieces and nephews.  She was the sister of the late William, John, Robert, George, James, Charles, Edith, Elizabeth, Catherine, and Alice Peters.
