Luther Philip Brier, age 90, of Middleborough, formerly of Madison, Florida, died on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton.
Born in Cumberland, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Louis & Olive (Purington) Brier. Luther joined the U.S. Navy in 1951, proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict on the USS Pocono, and was honorably discharged in 1955. For years, he was employed as a town worker and driver for the Town of Madison in Florida. Luther was always busy and "on the go"; he could be found working on a small engine, tuning it up or fixing it. He was always active. One item he truly cherished was his Indian motorcycle, which he had years ago. Luther loved his Indian motorcycle and enjoyed getting out on the roads and riding it.
Luther was the beloved husband of the late Nan J. (Appling) Brier; loving father of Joyce Pike of Florida, Robin Lake of Forestdale, Philip Brier of Middleborough, Gary Brier of Wareham, the late Debra Moore and the late David Brier; devoted grandfather of William, Cynthia, Meredith, George, Lynn, Christopher, Robert, Elizabeth, Danielle and Samantha, numerous great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild; dear brother of Ramona, Delores, Wanita, Marina, Victor and the late Rudolph, Louis, Daniel, Gale, William and Timothy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
All services will be private.
