Louise (DeMeule) Cunningham, of Raynham, died at the Morton Hospital in Taunton, on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the young age of 96.
A lifelong Red Sox fan, it is believed that another loss by the team finally did her in, as she often claimed it would.
Born in Hanson, she was the daughter of the late Eli and Adella (Babin) DeMeule. Louise was raised in Whitman and attended Whitman schools.
Always one to speak her mind, Louise let everyone know what she liked and did not like. She could not stand greasy spoon restaurants, most television, wearing shorts, and water of any kind. She loved cooking, criticizing the cooking of others, tea with her meal (with milk – not lemon – which she insisted on at every restaurant she ever visited), the Red Sox, complaining about the Red Sox, and telling stories (often the same ones). But most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them.
She is missed and survived by her two sons, Richard (Cathy) Cunningham and Steven (Karen) Cunningham,Sr.; her three grandchildren, Stacey (David) Lagerblade, Steven (Lisabeth) Cunningham, Jr.; and Kelcy (Patrick) Cunningham; and two great-grandchildren, Rhyan and Grace. She was predeceased in death by her loving husband, Richard. She was also sister of the late Ronald, Raymond, Wilfred and Louis DeMeule, George Walcott, Blanche Boucher, Cecile Larner, Pauline Leonard, and Florence Bearse.
Funeral and Interment Services will be private.
Contributions in Louise's memory may be made to the Fisher House Boston, P.O. Box 230, South Walpole, MA 02071.
