Lennie Lee Obituary

OBITUARY: Lennie Irene Lee (nee Straffin), 81, of Greenville, Rhode Island loving mother and grandmother and longtime resident of North Easton, MA passed peacefully on August 28th after a brave battle with cancer. The eldest daughter of Weston and Irene Straffin, she was born and raised on Market Street in Brockton, MA where her family owned and operated Straffin's Market in Campello (also known as "Wessies") for many years. Lennie attended Brockton High School and graduated from Simmons College in Boston where she majored in Accounting and participated on the fencing team. She moved to Easton in 1968 where she raised 3 sons and lived for over 40 years. She was a long-time member of the Covenant Congregational Church, was active in the school system and pursued a career in accounting. Throughout her life, Lennie was an avid gardener and she maintained her keen sense of humor and love of music into her last days. Lennie was pre-deceased by her husband of 38 years, David S. Lee of Easton, MA and is survived by her three sons; James Lee of Potomac Falls VA, Daniel Lee of Hingham, MA and Brian Lee of Duxbury, MA as well as six loving grandchildren; Catie, David, Weston, Bradford, Dennis and Josie. Lennie is also survived by her sister, Virginia Conefrey of Pocasset, MA, brother Richard Straffin of Rochester, MA and her loving companion of nearly 18 years, Alvaro Sousa of Westerly, RI. Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 8th at 11:00 at the North Congregational Church 36 Plymouth St, Middleboro, MA with a burial service immediately following at Purchade Cemetery located at 195 Plymouth St. Middleboro. Friends and Family will gather at the Fireside Grille, Middleboro immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to "Friends of Middleboro Cemeteries" directed to Purchade Cemetery.
