John James Cabral, Jr., age 77, of Middleborough, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at the Morton Hospital in Taunton.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Irene P. (Donovan) & John J. Cabral, Sr. John was a devoted son to his parents; he provided loving and attentive care to them during their long illnesses. John affectionately known as "Cub", grew up in Middleborough and was a graduate of Middleborough High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, served overseas and was honorably discharged in August 1972. John continued his education and earned his Associate's Degree in Business Administration. Cub worked as a mail sorter for the U.S. Postal Service in Brockton, retiring after 25 years of service. In retirement, he enjoyed visiting his relatives and friends. John was a huge sports fan, cheering on his favorite team, Notre Dame. Cub was a selfless and generous person to all the people he knew. He is survived by many relatives and friends.
Family and friends are welcome to the visitation at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Friday, June 2, 2023, from 9:00-9:45 AM, followed by John's funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Isidore Parish, SACRED HEART CHURCH, 340 Centre Street, Middleborough, at 10:00 AM.
Interment at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Wood Street, Middleborough.
