Jerome J. Caffrey, age 87, of Mashpee, formerly of Middleborough, died on Friday, August 6, 2021, at the Village at Proprietors Green in Marshfield.
Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Edward & Nora (Donahue) Caffrey. Jerome grew up in Brockton, attended public schools and graduated Brockton High School. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Northeastern University in Boston. Jerome worked as a Vice-President at Reed & Barton, a prominent silversmith manufacturing company formerly located in Taunton. He was devoted to Reed & Barton, working at the company for many years. In retirement, Jerome loved gardening and woodworking. He was a gifted bocce player and a Jazz aficionado.
Jerome was the dear husband of Maureen (Cruise) Caffrey and husband to his beloved late wife Roberta F. (Palmiero) Caffrey; loving father of Denise Conway & her husband Kevin of Derwood, Maryland, Peter Caffrey & his wife Patricia of Silver Spring, Maryland and Patricia Caffrey & her wife Virginia of Hingham; cherished grandfather of Patrick, Emily, James, Magdalena, Clara and Sofia; dear brother of the late Edward Caffrey and Richard Caffrey; dear brother-in-law of David Sharkey of Wareham & his late wife Marie; and beloved uncle to the Caffrey and Sharkey families both of Brockton.
Family and friends are welcome to the Visiting Hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, from 9:45 AM to 11:45 AM.
All are invited to the Graveside Services at the Nemasket Hill Cemetery, 515 Plymouth Street, Middleborough, on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 12:00 NOON.
A luncheon will follow the services.
