Jeffrey P. Peterson

Jeffrey Paul Peterson, age 58, of Middleborough, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023, of brain cancer, at the AccentCare Seasons Hospice Center in Milton.

Born in Fall River, he was a 1984 graduate of Middleborough High School.  Jeff worked for many years for the City of Taunton.  Many may remember Jeff from Saint Mary's Cemetery in Middleborough, where he helped many ladies with watering, trimming and digging holes for their plants and flowers at gravesites.  Jeff was a kind, big-hearted man and was known for his happy personality.  He never met a person that he wouldn't talk to; he loved to talk and meet new people.  Jeff made many friends at Saint Mary's Cemetery, while watching over his brother, Richard's gravesite.

Jeff was the beloved son of Patricia (Lynch) Peterson of Middleborough and the late Robert L. Peterson of Florida; cherished grandson of the late Cornelius & Teresa Lynch of Somerset and Florida and the late Lewis & Dorothy Peterson of Florida; dear step-son of the late Edward Murray; loving brother of William Peterson of Middleborough, Cathy Hayden & her husband Paul of Taunton, and the late Richard Peterson who predeceased him in 1995; dear nephew of Edward J. Lynch of Florida, James & Elaine Lynch of Somerset, and Charles & Brenda Burke of Harwich.  Jeff also leaves many cousins, whom he loved.

Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NOON, followed by a prayer service starting at 12:00 NOON.

Interment services will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Wood Street, Middleborough.
