OBITUARY: (MIDDLEBORO) Jeanon Shing, 89, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston, unexpectedly with family at his side. Jeanon was born January 12, 1926 in Fall River. In his early years Jeanon enlisted in the Army and stationed in Japan with Company B 27th Engineers Construction Battalion during World War 2. He was a graduate of Boston Vocational School and retired as an engineer after 38 years at Pneumatic Scale in Quincy on August 1st, 1988, He leaves behind his 5 children, Dale Shing and David Carr of Taunton, Lawrence and Carol Shing of Middleboro, Darrell Shing and Anne Soule of Berkley, Lori and Robert Azevedo, of Raynham, Denise and John Perry of Carver, his brothers Jean and Marjorie Shing of Lakeville and William Shing Sr. of Lakeville, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Toy Shing, sisters May Lun of Rosendale and Lilian Valler of Middleboro. Mr. Shing had a passion for hunting, fishing and golf. He loved to get away to the dog track or casino whenever possible with his brother William. Jeanon loved watching all sports, especially football, watching the Patriots games at home with his family. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 26th from 4-8 pm in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 27th at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Sampson's Cemetery, Bedford St. Lakeville.
