Janet L. Stuart

Janet L. Stuart, age 81, of Middleborough, died peacefully, on Monday, May 23, 2022, at her home.

Born in Portland, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Elden & Eleanor (Slocum) Stuart.  Janet grew up in Middleborough, attended public schools and graduated Middleborough High School, Class of 1958.  Thereafter, she got married and started her family.  Janet kept busy with her family and was very involved in civic activities; she also enjoyed skiing and playing golf.  She was a lover of animals, especially horses, and was an accomplished artist.  In later years, Janet travelled extensively with Napoleon.

Janet was the beloved mother of Cheryl Brown & her husband John Peter Brown of Middleborough, Pamela Taylor of West Bridgewater and Deanna Chace-Bean & her husband Robert G. Bean of Medford; loving grandmother of Carolyn, Sarah and Tayler; great-grandmother of Avery, Maren and Hannah; dear sister of Peter Stuart of Halifax, June Meunier & her husband Robert of East Taunton and the late Bonnie Stuart and Paul Stuart.  She is also survived by her longtime companion, Napoleon Des Rosiers of Berkley; as well as many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 3:00-7:00 PM.

All are invited to the Graveside Services at the Nemasket Hill Cemetery, 515 Plymouth Street, Middleborough, on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 10:00 AM.
