Jane (Swales) Crosby, age 84, of Middleborough, died on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the Tobey Hospital in Wareham.
Born in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Swales and the late Ruth (Gardner) Hermitage. Jane grew up in Plymouth and was a graduate of Plymouth High School. She married Howard and together they started their family; Jane was a homemaker, keeping busy with the children and the house. She was a "Sports Freak", a true and loyal fan of the Boston Bruins, Red Sox and the New England Patriots; always cheering for the teams. Jane loved gardening, and had quite the "green thumb", maintaining her many potted plants throughout her home. She also enjoyed playing cribbage and excelled in winning! Jane was a wonderful lady and will be missed.
Jane was the beloved wife of the late Howard L. Crosby; loving mother of Laurie J. Ashley & her husband Milton of North Dighton and Holly J. Ferbert & her husband Henry of Wareham; cherished grandmother of Henry Ferbert, Jr. and Jason Ferbert; dear sister of Nancy Nickerson of Plymouth, Edwin Swales, Jr. of Washington, Joann Swales of Lakeville and the late Philip Swales. She is also survived by her daughter of choice, Lori Bartlett of Vermont, and many caring nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Funeral and Interment services will be private.
A Celebration of life is being planned for the Spring.
