James S. Bagdon, age 71, of Taunton, formerly of Middleborough, died on Monday, June 24, 2024, at the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury.
He was born at Saint Luke's Hospital in Middleborough, the son of the late Adam & Jane (Fickert) Bagdon. James grew up and attended public schools in Middleborough, was a graduate of Middleborough Memorial High School, Class of 1971 and was a graduate of Norwich University in Vermont, Class of 1975, where he earned his BA in History.
He served in the US Army from 1976 to 1984, was stationed in Germany, Korea and the United States, retiring as a Captain. James worked for the US Postal Service in Brockton, at the Liberty Street location, sorting mail and retired in 2015. James was patriotic; mindful of the troops actively serving; he was involved in filling the backpacks with everyday supplies and he helped restore and refinish old armor tanks displayed by various Veteran organizations. He was a lifelong Boston sports fan, and an avid movie fan; he loved reading, dining out and travelling. He was a nice guy and will be missed!
James was the loving brother of Kenneth Bagdon & his wife Jean of Middleborough; cherished and loving uncle of Adam Bagdon of Westford, VT and Stephanie Bagdon of Lakeville and great-uncle of Ella.
