Howard Nelson

OBITUARY: (MIDDLEBORO) Howard E. Nelson, 74, of Middleboro, died on Monday, July 27, 2015, at the Golden Living Center at Oak Hill, Middleboro. He was the husband of Rosemary (Dunn) Nelson. He was born in Boston; son of the late Carl and Isabelle (Hughes) Nelson. He served in the United States Navy, during Vietnam. He was a Police Sergeant in the town of Pembroke, retiring after 32 years. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; three sons, Eric T. and his wife Josephine L. Nelson, Howard E. Nelson Jr., and Gary M. Nelson; a daughter, Sandra J. Nelson and her spouse Robyn Stewart; 6 grandchildren, Alexandria Nelson, Michael R. Nelson, Sophie R. Nelson, Eric T. Nelson Jr., William Stewart Nelson, and Eli Stewart Nelson; two sisters, Shirley Gaynor, Linda and her husband William Fleming. He was brother of the late George Hughes, Richard Nelson, Carl Nelson, and Carol Fralin. Visiting hours will be held in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro, on Thursday, July 30th from 4-8 pm. A funeral mass will be held in Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre St. Middleboro, on Friday, July 31st at 10 am. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45 pm..
