Herminia C. Coelho

Herminia C. (Cardoso) Coelho, age 84, of Middleborough, died on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth.

Born in Nabais, Gouveia, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Encarnacao (Cardoso) & Mario Coelho.  Herminia grew up and was educated in Portugal.  For several years, she worked in a factory, manufacturing yarn.  In 1969, she came to the United States and secured a job at Cliftex in New Bedford where she worked as a garment stitcher, with special attention to men's suits.  Herminia retired from the garment industry in 2003.  She enjoyed baking, gardening, loved all animals, watching the Portuguese channel-shows, and was an avid and passionate fan of the Portuguese Soccer (Benfica).  Herminia would watch a Portuguese Soccer game on television, cheering the team on to victory; and if the team was doing poorly, she would voice her concerns, in a very loud tone!  Herminia adored her  family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she cherished time spent together.  She was loved by many and she will be missed.

Herminia was the loving mother of Ana M. DosSantos of Middleborough, Maria C. Sylvestre & her husband Paul of Rhode Island, Agostinho C. DosSantos of Middleborough and Paulo C. Santos of Middleborough; adored grandmother of James, Megan & her husband John, Michael and Laura; great-grandmother of Ava and John Jr.

Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 PM.

All are cordially invited to gather at the Ashley Funeral Home, Middleborough, on Saturday, June 21, 2025, starting at 9:45 AM, followed by her funeral Mass of Christian Burial at the Holy Apostles Parish, OUR LADY OF THE LAKE CHURCH, 575 Monponsett Street, (Route 58), Halifax, at 11:00 AM.

Interment services will follow in the Cemetery at the Green, Plympton Street, Middleborough (near the intersection of Routes 44 & 105).
