Gloria Wilkinson

OBITUARY: (MIDDLEBORO) Gloria H. (Thorne) Wilkinson, 90, of Middleboro, died on Monday, February 8, 2016, at home. She was the wife of the late John E. Wilkinson. Born in Braintree; daughter of the late William and Helen (Stewart) Thorne. She was a 1944 graduate of Braintree High School and retired in 1987 from Bradlee's Department Store, where she was a secretary. She was a former member of the Knitting Group at the Middleboro COA. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Survivors include a daughter, Donna-Jean and her husband William Merritt, of Middleboro; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Wilkinson, of FL; three grandchildren, John Merritt, Charlene Chartier, and Beau Wilkinson; 10 great-grandchildren. She was mother of the late John E. Wilkinson Jr. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 14th from 3-5 pm in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro, with a prayer service to be held on Monday, February 15th at 10 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree.
