Fern N. (Nason) Carver

Fern N. Carver, of Middleborough, passed on Friday, July 26, 2024, at her home surrounded by family, at age 90.

Fern was born in Milo, Maine, to Carrie & Carroll Nason on April 29, 1934.  She grew up in Old Town, Maine, where she was a majorette in high school and from where she graduated.  She married Albion Carver of Milo, Maine, and together had six children.  Although not together, they remained friends until the end.

She worked for many years at The Chicken House in South Middleborough, where just about everyone in Middleborough and surrounding towns knew her.  There, she made numerous dear friendships that continued until she passed.  When you met Fern, she enveloped you into her life.  If she loved you, she loved you forever and you were a part of her extended family.  Her door was always open and most of the time the house was filled with not only her own children, but their friends that she treated as her children as well.  She was loved by all.

Fern is survived by her children; Michael Carver & his wife Carol, Lori Hopwood & her husband Jack, Lisa Walker & her husband Dave; her grandchildren; Kris Carver & his wife Shara, Amber Hopwood & her husband Joe Powell, and Austin Hopwood; her great-grandchildren; Wyatt Carver and Chelsea Hopwood.  In addition to her biological children, she is survived by Michael B. Carver and Kathy Arabaz & her husband Mark, who she felt were the extension of her family.  Fern is predeceased by her children; Mark, Marcella, Jeff and Bob Enos; and her grandson, Ryan Hopwood.

Keep Fern in your prayers as she would you.  Think of her often with a smile, that is what she would want.  She loved her family.

A Celebration of Life Services for Fern will be held at the Middleboro Elks Lodge #1274, 24 High Street, Middleborough, on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 1:00-4:00 PM, with a Service at 2:30 PM.
