OBITUARY: (MIDDLEBORO) Everett Joseph Casey, 81, lifelong resident of Middleboro, died on Monday, October 27, 2014, at the Golden Living Center at Oak Hill, Middleboro, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Eileen Mary (O'Sullivan) Casey, who predeceased him in 2013. He was the son of the late Raymond and Margaret Josephine (Moriarty) Casey. He served in the United States Air Force, during the Korean conflict. Born and educated in Middleboro, he was a physics technician for Boston College for 35 years. Everett was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church, Middleboro, where he served as sexton for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Middleboro. In November of 2013, Everett was the recipient of the Cardinal Cheverus Award, in which a ceremony was held at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston, by Cardinal O'Malley. Survivors include a son, Earl R. Casey of Middleboro; a daughter, Theresa A. Casey of Lakeville. He was the brother of the late Marie Chillis, Eileen Morse, and Myra Stephanian. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 29th from 4-7 pm in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St Middleboro. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Thursday, October 30th at 9 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre St Middleboro, at 10 am.
