Edward Park Obituary

OBITUARY: (MIDDLEBORO) Edward Lindley Park, 69, of Middleboro, died on Friday, January 31, 2015, at home. He was the husband of Shirley (Vanasse) Park; they had been married for 47 years. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Edward L. and Ellen (McDonnell) Park. He served in the United States Army Special Forces, having served 20 years, retiring as a Sergeant First Class. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Middleboro. Edward was a member of the N.R.A., and the Middleboro Gun Club. He enjoyed shooting his rifle and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; a son, Robert P. Park of Lakeville; a daughter, Kathleen G. Park of Attleboro; two brothers, John L. and his wife Margaret Park of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Tom W. and his wife Carol Park of Cameron, NC; a step-brother, Martin Santor; step-sisters, Patricia Bouchard, Jacqueline Hamlin, all of Vermont. He was step-son of the late Theresa B. Park. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 3rd from 4-7 pm in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday, February 4th at 9 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre St. Middleboro, at 10 am. Burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Wednesday at 12:30 pm.
