Edward J. "ED" Murray

Edward J. Murray, age 73, of Middleborough, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice House in Providence, Rhode Island, after a brief battle with cancer. Edward was born in Watford, England and moved to Australia at a young age to profit from an apprenticeship with Bectel Construction. Upon receiving his Engineering degree, he was fortunate enough to work in many foreign countries with the engineering crew for major construction companies. Ed was married to Patricia Peterson-Murray for 34 years and made his home in Middleborough. He was the son of the late Martyn Aldrich & Ann Aldrich of New Zealand. He leaves two brothers; his twin Steven and David of New Zealand. Ed leaves many cousins in England and here in the United States. He was the nephew of the late Ellen Grant and her family. Ed also leaves his step-children; William Peterson, Jeffrey Peterson, Cathy Peterson-Hayden and the late Richard Peterson. Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Thursday, February 11, 2021, from 3:00-7:00 PM. All are invited to the funeral service in the Ashley Funeral Home, Middleborough, on Friday, February 12, 2021, at 10:00 AM. (LIMIT OF 40 PEOPLE ALLOWED INSIDE THE FUNERAL HOME AT ALL TIMES) DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, A FACE MASK MUST BE WORN AND SOCIAL DISTANCE RULES MUST BE FOLLOWED AT ALL TIMES. Interment at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Wood Street, Middleborough.
