Dr. Laurence C. Osborne, known as “Buzz”, “Larry” or “Dad”, of Middleborough, passed away on March 7, 2026.
Son of the late Laurence and Lillian and kid brother to Curt, he graduated from Middleborough High School, received his bachelor's degree from UMASS Amherst, his master's from Columbia University, and doctorate in education from Boston University. He loved the arts, raising tomatoes, and tending his garden in Middleborough, where he lived for nearly 93 years (give or take time in school, overseas in the Army, and on vacations around the world).
Beloved by those who knew him - including Eleanor (wife of 60 years), sons Andrew and Jonathan, colleagues at Central Middle School in Quincy (a.k.a. "The History Boys"), many friends, and the students he mentored over the course of a 45-year teaching career.
Celebration of life details to be announced.
