Dorothy Bonanno

OBITUARY: (BROCKTON) Dorothy M. Bonanno, of Mansfield, MA passed, surrounded by her loving family on August 31, 2017. She was 81 years old. Dorothy is survived by her husband William E. Bonanno of Mansfield, MA; her son, William A. Bonanno of Middleboro, MA; her four grandchildren Michelle, Trevor, Katie and McKinley; and her five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Bernard Bonanno, and her mother, Madeline Schools. Dorothy was born on November 15, 1935 in Boston, MA to Madeline Schools along with 7 brothers and sisters. Dorothy married the love of her life William E. Bonanno on August 16, 1952. Together they raised two sons Billy and Bernie. Dorothy lived a full life, and accomplished so many amazing things over the years. She was a nurse for 15 years, traveled the world, raised wonderful children and grandchildren, and celebrated many anniversaries with her husband Bill. August 16th marked their 65th wedding anniversary!! Dorothy will be forever missed, but is in heaven playing her favorite slots and reunited with many loved ones. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, September 12th from 4-7 at Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street Middleboro, MA. IMMEDIALTELY FOLLOWING - All family and friends are invited to the Elks Club in Middleboro (across the street from the funeral home) for a Celebration of Dottie's Life! Funeral will be held the morning of Wednesday September 13th at Ashley Funeral Home, burial to follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
