Donald Miller Obituary

Donald B. Miller, age 89, of Lakeville, formerly of Rye, New York, died on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at his home.

Born in Mount Kisco, New York, he was the son of the late Paul & Marium (Barrett) Miller.  Donald grew up in Rye, New York, attended Rye High School where he excelled as an athlete and played football; he was a graduate of the Class of 1950.  He enrolled in The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina from 1950-1954.  Donald entered the U.S. Army in 1954, was stationed in Korea and served his country for two years, and was honorably discharged in 1956.

Donald married Joan Marie Griffen in 1959, and together they started their family, raising three sons.  For many years, he was a Sales Executive in the felt industry, retiring in 1999.  In retirement, he enjoyed gardening  and collecting war memorabilia.

Donald was the beloved husband of the late Joan Miller; loving father of Barry Miller & his wife Debra of Saint Charles, Missouri, Jeff Miller & his wife Barbara of Charlotte, North Carolina and the late Gregory Miller; devoted grandfather of Erika, Danielle, Ryan, Jared, Courtney and great-grandfather of Robert Joseph (RJ).

There will be NO visiting hours.

Family and friends are welcome to the Graveside Services at the Cedar Knoll Cemetery, 175 Staples Street, Taunton, on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at 1:00 PM.
