Donald Cowen, age 90, of West Wareham, died on Monday, December 28, 2020, at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, from Covid-19 complications. He died quickly and passed quietly in the night. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, no one could physically be there with him, but our love was with him.
Don was a gentle man who loved his family, spending many hours with his children and grandchildren. He was a hard worker who worked two jobs to support his family. He was a church going man and became a Mason to further his love for God. He was a strong man who never complained. If you asked him how he was, he would reply “no aches or pains”.
Upon his retirement, Don and his wife Pat spent many days traveling on bus trips to local places. Their favorites were Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. They traveled to Florida together and enjoyed their vacations. After Pat died, Don continued to enjoy the local bus trips until he was physically unable to do so. Don then enjoyed going to the local Senior Center and spending time with his family.
Don is in heaven with God, his two late wives, Barbara Cowen and Patricia Cowen and his late daughter, Donna Westgate.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Seale and her husband Rich of Waltham, MA; his grandchildren,Timothy Seale of Waltham, MA, Kerrianne Seale of Watertown, MA, Joshua and Jacob Westgate of Corinna, Maine; his brother, Jack Cowen and his wife Linda of Nevada. He is also survived by his friends. Don will be missed by all.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
A private burial will follow.
