Demetra C. (Flaskis) Hixson, age 86, of Middleborough, formerly of Bridgewater, died peacefully after a short illness, on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth.
Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Comninos & Cleo (Spanos) Flaskis. Demetra grew up in Brookline and attended public schools there. She married, raised her family in Bridgewater, and then moved to Middleborough, where she resided for over 30 years. Demetra worked diligently as a bookkeeper for various businesses, handling accounting and bookkeeping throughout her life before retiring after many years. She enjoyed gardening, loved Chinese food, and shopping, especially for bargains! Demetra was a devoted QVC customer who adored watching and shopping on the QVC channel. Family was important to Demetra; she doted on her sons and grandchildren with love. She will always be remembered and never forgotten.
Demetra was the beloved wife of the late Charles "Charlie" T. Hixson; loving mother of George Demos of Jackson, New Hampshire and Mike (Comninos) Demos & his wife Christine of Bridgewater; cherished "Yia Yia" of Nicholas, Matthew and Kailyn; dear sister of Maria and the late Tony, Anna, and Aspacia.
Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley~Drolette Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, MIDDLEBOROUGH, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM, followed by her funeral service at the Central Congregational Church, 2 Webster Street, MIDDLEBOROUGH, at 11:00 AM.
Interment services at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Wood Street, MIDDLEBOROUGH.
