Dean M. Chase

Dean Mortimer Chase, age 88, of Middleborough, died peacefully on Tuesday evening, June 16, 2026, at his home.

Dean was born in Bradford, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Clarence & Agnes (Bowen) Chase.  He grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania, attended public schools and graduated from Strong Vincent High School, Class of 1956.  After graduation, Dean enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving his country for three years, post Korea War time.  He married Jocelyn and together they started their family.  Dean worked faithfully at the VA Medical Center in Brockton for 30 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the Psychiatric Ward, providing care with compassion.  In younger years, he liked to hunt for deer.  In his free time, Dean meticulously worked in his yard to create an English-style appearance.  He was a simple man who enjoyed life's simple pleasures; being with family, shopping and going to the movies.  Dean was loved and will be missed.

Dean was the beloved husband of Jocelyn I. (Ritscher) Chase for 66 years; loving father of Dean Chase of Middleborough, Heidi Herbert & her husband Chuck of Dallas, Texas, David Chase of Middleborough and Heather Watson & her husband Joe of Walland, Tennessee; cherished grandfather of Dean, Daniel, Heidi, Karol, Nikolas, Charles, Joey, Johnnie, Kate and Ryan; great-grandfather of eight; devoted brother of Margaret Chase of Middleborough; dear brother-in-law of Ronald Ritscher of Moss Point, Mississippi and the late Robert Ritscher, Jr.; dear uncle of Christi, Debra, Robert III, and Donald.

There will be NO visiting hours.

Funeral and Interment Services are private.
