David Hoard

OBITUARY: (TAUNTON) David W. Hoard, aged 86 years, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Morton Hospital, Taunton. He was the husband of the late Jayne C. (Hammond) Hoard, and Louise A. (Williamson) Hoard. Born in Middleboro, son of the late Wendell G. and Helen M. (Thomas) Hoard. He was a correction's officer for Bridgewater State House of Corrections for 33 years. In 1969 he received a special appointment from the Lieutenant Governor as a Special State Police Officer for 3 years. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was the last survivor of his six siblings. Survivors include a daughter, Catherine A. Danforth of Lakeville, three grandchildren, Albert D. and Jonathan Danforth, and Lisa Jayne Jerrier, all of Lakeville, three great-grandchildren, Allison J. and Ashlyn N. Danforth, both of Middleboro, and Adrienne M. Jerrier of Lakeville, several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 30th from 9-11 am in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro, with a prayer service to follow at 11 am. Burial will take place in Nemasket Hill Cemetery, Middleboro.
