David Freitas, 70, of Middleboro, MA passed away early morning on Monday, January 1, 2018 after a long illness. David was born on April 29, 1947 at St Luke's Hospital in Middleboro to Joseph and Leola (Lively) Freitas. He graduated from Middleboro High school in 1966 and attended electrical school at Wentworth Institute. David owned Freitas and Son Electric for 20 years before retiring and overseeing Freitas Farm alongside his son, Scott. His passions were deep sea fishing and, of course, farming. David is survived by his two sons, Scott Freitas of Lakeville, Todd and his wife, Laura (Knox) Freitas of Middleboro, a brother, Joseph, and his wife, Patricia (Salley) Freitas of Middleboro, and former wife Jeanne (Sparkman) Freitas of Lakeville. He also leaves behind his two nieces, Jennifer (Freitas) Carter and her husband Paul, of Middleboro, and Jamie (Freitas) Yelton and her husband, Nick of North Carolina, a nephew, Jonathan Freitas and his girlfriend, Michelle Tees, of Middleboro, and his three grandchildren, Heidi, Brian, and Brianna Freitas. David will also be missed by many close friends, especially John "Cub" Cabral, Patricia Lougee, Bianca Meleo, Michelle Menard, and Darcy Amin. His loyal dog, Bear, still waits for David and his ice cream treats. A private graveside service was held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Wappanucket Cemetery in Middleboro, MA.
