Christian F. Hellpap, Jr., age 91, of Whitman, formerly of Middleborough, died on Monday, June 6, 2022, at the VA Healthcare in West Roxbury.
Born in Wonewoc, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Christian & Frieda (Lange) Hellpap. Christian was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Occupation of Japan and the Korean Conflict. He had been employed as a Foreman at Abrasive Products in South Braintree for 25 years and later at Halliday Lithograph in Plympton. Christian was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Middleborough, and volunteered for many years at the Council on Aging in Middleborough. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #40 of Plymouth.
Christian was the beloved husband of Ethel Gloria (Shenett) (Perkins) Hellpap and the late Mary (Richards) Hellpap; loving father of Christian Hellpap & his wife Pamela of Texas, John Hellpap of North Carolina, Mary LeDonne & her husband Robert of Middleborough, Catherine Blake & her husband Peter of Wareham and the late Daniel Hellpap. He is also survived by Gloria's family, Dana Perkins & his wife Rhonda of Whitman, Allen Perkins of Whitman and Donna Mattson & her husband John of North Carolina; his many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; his brother Wayne Hellpap and the late Theodore Hellpap, Wilfred Hellpap, Evelyn Dean, and Ronald Hellpap; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Sunday, June 12, 2022, from 3:00-6:00 PM.
All are welcome to gather at the Ashley Funeral Home, Middleborough, on Monday, June 13, 2022, starting at 9:15 AM, followed by his funeral Mass of Christian burial at Saint Isidore Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre Street, Middleborough, at 10:00 AM.
Interment at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Wood Street, Middleborough.
