Charles "Charlie" Pina Obituary

Charles "Charlie" W. Pina, age 84, of Middleborough, died on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Charles & Mary (Pacheco) Pina, and grew up on a farm.  Charlie was a self-employed Master Plumber for many years, starting his own business, C.P. & Sons Plumbing and Heating.  When he passed the business over to his son, Charlie became the Plumbing Inspector for the town of Plymouth.  In retirement, he was a part-time Inspector for the towns of Plymouth, Carver, Dennis and Middleborough.

Charlie, as he is affectionately called by everyone, was a long standing member of the East Middleboro 4H and Rotary Club.  He was always the "guy" in the white cowboy hat, directing and parking cars at the East Middleboro 4H Fair.  Charlie was also a trustee for the Baptist Church of All Nations in Taunton.  Over the years, Charlie and his wife Jerry welcomed numerous foster children and foreign exchange students into their family and home.  Charlie was always there to help everyone, whether he knew you for 20 minutes or 20 years; once you met Charlie, you were his friend forever.

Charlie was the beloved husband for 63 years to Geraldine "Jerry" (Gonsalves) Pina; loving father of Bruce Pina of Florida, Robin Jones & her husband Leon of Middleborough, Stacey Desroches & her husband Dennis of Middleborough and Margaret Tabois & her husband Elroy of Connecticut; devoted grandfather of Jermaine, Dominique, Jared (Bruce), Amari, Devyn, Jadyn, Arjanai, Taylor, and Troy and great-grandfather of Xavier; dear brother of Salvatore Pina of Taunton and the late Arthur, Albert, Tony, Esther, Jackie, Deloros, Agnes, Edward and George.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
