Brian K. Wilkinson, age 72, of Middleborough, died on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the Morton Hospital in Taunton.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Merwyn & Sarah (Robinson) Wilkinson. Brian graduated from Boston Technical High School, Class of 1967 and attended Wentworth Institute. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in September 1968 during the Vietnam War, earned several Service Medals as well as a Sharpshooter (Rifle) Medal and was Honorably discharged in August 1969. For many years, Brian was a mechanical engineer at Butler Automatic, formerly in the greater Boston area and most recently located in Middleborough.
He was an ardent parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Middleborough and was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree. Brian loved music, especially the British Invasion, starting from the mid-1960's along with music from The Beatles.
For 50 years, Brian was the beloved husband to Dorothy "Dee" (Finn) Wilkinson; loving father of Cheryl Stelljes & her husband Steve of Scituate and Brian K. Wilkinson, Jr. of Middleborough; devoted grandfather of Lindsay, Adam, Saydee and Tyler; dear brother of Walter Wilkinson of Panama City, Panama and Barbara Maling of Weymouth; dear brother-in-law of Susan Grant & her husband Joe of Reading; and loving uncle of Shanna and Deidre.
Family and friends are welcome to the visitation period at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 11:00-11:45 AM, followed by Brian's funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Isidore Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre Street, Middleborough, at 12:00 NOON.
Interment will follow in Cemetery at the Green, Plympton Street, Middleborough.
